Bus Shelter Installations
In partnership with the City of Cincinnati and Metro, the Camp Washington Urban Revitalization Corporation (CWURC) helped bring a new bus shelter to the corner of Colerain Avenue and Hopple Street. More than just a transit stop, the shelter serves as a celebration of Camp Washington's rich history, culture, and identity.
The custom design incorporates numerous historical elements unique to the neighborhood, including the iconic gorilla from the former Schenz Costume Store, signage inspired by the American Sign Museum, and references to many of Camp Washington's notable architectural landmarks. The artwork reflects the stories, businesses, and places that have shaped the community over generations.
The final design was developed through an extensive community engagement process, ensuring that neighborhood residents, businesses, and stakeholders had the opportunity to help shape the vision. Installed in late 2025, the bus shelter now serves as both a functional public amenity and a welcoming gateway that highlights the unique character and pride of Camp Washington.
