Why are we investing?
Water mains are usually expected to last 80-120 years. As part of the annual replacement program, investments are being made to provide the most reliable service to our customers.

Outages & Traffic Restrictions:
Outages and traffic disruptions may be necessary throughout the project. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the project. You will receive additional notifications prior to the start of the construction phase of the project.

A water service line is an underground pipe that connects a home or business to a water main, which carries the public water supply. Lead was the preferred piping material for service lines in the early 1900s. Cincinnati began requiring the use of copper pipes in 1928 and stopped using lead at that time. Some service lines on private property still contain lead, and GCWW is working to replace them at no cost to customers to ensure public health. We strive for minimal disruption and will restore the property after the work is completed.
